Quelques arpents de neige logo

Quelques arpents de neige
is an environmental history group at McGill University. Their name is taken from a document written by Voltaire, so initial drafts of the logo were based around Voltaire's handwriting. In the end, the simpler font and icon were used.

"'A few acres of snow' (in the original French, 'Quelques arpents de neige') is a quotation from Voltaire popularly understood to be a sneering evaluation of New France's ? and, by extension, Canada's ? lack of mercantile value and strategic importance to France." (Wikipedia)
