This
logo was under development for Cesar Chavez Public Charter School for Public Policy in
Washington, DC. They wanted a logo that showed the movement from study to action, from learning to leadership.
These
3 versions represent an early draft in logo development, playing with
that idea, especially the movement from school building to Capitol
building. The typeface was chosen to suggest the words carved into the
government buildings and monuments in Washington, DC, while the
variation in size and placement gives it a more youthful appeal and
more life than the unchanging, cold stone of monuments.
This project was done through CEDC. Unfortunately, for their own
reasons, the people at
CCPCSPP had to cancel the project partway through and we were not able to
complete the final stages of development (editing, adaptation, tweaking and polishing).
