Quelques arpents de neige is an environmental history group at McGill University. Their name is taken from a document written by Voltaire, so initial drafts of the logo were based around Voltaire's handwriting. In the end, the simpler font and icon were used.
The Africa Faith and Justice Network (AFJN) wanted a logo that incorporated the image of Africa and a symbol known as a "sankofa," a bird looking over its shoulder, indicating the importance of learning from the past as we move into the future.
The DC Youth Advisory Council wanted a logo that contained the usual elements of the official DC Government (the "stars and bars" that represent DC), but with a fresh new attitude to show that, although established by the government, they spoke with the strength and voice of youth.
