One of the things our cities need is more traffic mimes. (I say this knowing that mimes are not universally loved.) My one and only experience with miming was in the streets of a small town somewhere in Washington state. A small family came out of the bagel shop in front of me. Instead of encouraging the young boy to put loose change into my worn out paper cup, the parents looked at me, surprised as I climbed my invisible rope and pushed against the invisible wall between us, and then they said to their son, "Shoot the mime!"
With all the recent presidential talk of promoting democracy in the world, and with Iraqi's going to the polls today, it seems appropriate to ask the question: Why doesn't the capital city of the USA have representation? It's a good question, and I've never heard a good answer defending it.
Over the last little while, various items relating to money have been bumping around my head. In our culture, that is probably not very unusual, but I started to wonder what, if anything, they had to do with each other. Perhaps it is nothing, but here they are.
I wanted to share something that I've discovered recently. There's nothing wrong with me. I used to think I was a guy who was sometimes lazy, inconsiderate, selfish, and self-righteous (to name a few). I have come to the realization that these are not character flaws--they're part of my culture, just like everything else I do.
And culture is good, right? And we should try to preserve it?
It's past 3 pm and I haven't showered yet. It's part of a new theory I'm testing out as a corollary to something one of my brothers has scientifically proven. He has not used shampoo for years, and his hair is not greasy. He is living proof, you do not need to use shampoo.
