Joe Lapp's Kenilworth History BookletJoe Lapp has been working on a neighborhood history project, and this booklet is the first stage of the results. He got a grant to help print it and I helped him with the design of it. He launched it last month at a neighborhood event where we heard some history, listened to stories from the community and saw a slideshow. Here's the introduction to the booklet, followed by a link to the PDF.

"I love Kenilworth: its woods, streets, and alleys; its highway and its people; its ponds and churches and homes. Love motivated this booklet, and I hope you will read it with that in mind. My parents moved to Kenilworth in the 1960’s to start a small church on Douglas Street, and I came home to Kenilworth when I was born. Over the last three years I’ve spent many hours roaming the neighborhood’s streets, talking to its people, and digging up its history in libraries and in neighbors’ archives. This booklet is the result. I hope these pages will inspire you to find and record the history of the people and places that you love. And if you, like me, love Kenilworth, we can work together to make sure the neighborhood’s future is a positive and a bright one.
Peace, Joe Lapp"
